Why is Northern Precision Products so cost competitive?
In today’s marketplace, our customers demand that we bring high levels of quality along with competitive costs. We are proud we can accomplish these objectives. One of the benefits of our company being in a remote area is a less costly non-union environment. The cost of real estate and compensation levels are lower than they would be if we were located in a larger metropolitan area. Also, due to our large-volume metal purchases from various mills, we have the advantage of "direct purchases" so we can bypass middlemen and warehouses, which only add costs to the value chain. Finally, we run a "lean" operation, and we pass on to our customers all metal shavings reclamation credits.

What kinds of products best fit Northern Precision Products manufacturing capabilities?
Our company is best suited for EAU volumes of 20,000 to 5 million. We have unique capabilities with brass, steel, aluminum and certain kinds of stainless steel. We feel our abilities related to threading parts are one of our biggest strengths. All of our parts are built from symmetrical rods, which range in size from ½-inch to 2 inches in diameter. We are very good with operations such as milling, recessing, broaching, knurling, reaming, burnishing, roll stamping and washing. We have substantial experience with several industries, including: automotive, transportation, plumbing, recreation and steam. We are especially adept with manufacturing thin walled threaded housings for temperature and pressure instruments. When needed, we will utilize our CNC capabilities for customer prototyping requirements and to manufacture lower EAU quantity orders.

Why has Northern Precision Products been so successful in a marketplace that has driven many screw machine organizations out of business?
Besides our low cost structure, we are a very agile company. We pride ourselves on being able to make last-minute schedule changes to accommodate customer rush orders. In today’s demanding business climate, this is a key to maintain customer satisfaction. In addition, we are very flexible in adapting to our customer Kanban needs, supporting "ship- from-stock" programs and offering "low runner" parts initiatives. While many screw machine organizations have not stepped up to the challenging requirements of being certified in quality at the TS16949 level, we have done so.

How can I be sure I am getting your best price?
We will ask you to provide an estimated annual usage so we can determine the most economical run quantity and frequency of production runs. Each quote will be issued per your requested quantities and specifications. If, however, slight differences in quantities or specifications will yield significant cost savings, we also will quote these as an alternative for you to consider, as well as any special terms.
